Suggested Reading List, Summer 2011

In anticipation of your arrival for the fall 2010 semester, the Architecture faculty has compiled a reading list to
help you prepare for the program. Although you have all taken History of Architecture courses, the content
and approaches used in such courses can vary widely, and so we provide the enclosed list to help you fill in
gaps you may have missed in your previous education. We expect everyone to have a basic familiarity with
the major arguments and positions of contemporary architecture from the modern movement to the present
day, though we do not expect anyone to read all the books on this list.
